Summary
Amazon Link Cleaner processes URLs and page titles locally in your browser to create clean, shareable links. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your data.
Data we access
The extension accesses the following data only when you trigger a copy action:
- activeTab permission: Reads the current tab's title and URL only when you click a copy button, use a keyboard shortcut, or right-click menu item.
- Storage: Saves your preferences locally (e.g., whether to remove "www." from Amazon links, show toast notifications).
How data is used
- To generate clean, shortened Amazon links (converting long URLs to canonical paths like
/dp/ASIN). - To remove tracking parameters from URLs.
- To copy formatted text (link only, title + link, title only, etc.) to your clipboard.
- To display optional "copied" toast notifications on the page.
Data storage
Settings are stored using chrome.storage.local on your device only.
This includes preferences like whether to remove "www." from Amazon links and whether to show toast notifications.
You can clear this data at any time through Chrome's extension settings.
Data sharing
Amazon Link Cleaner does not transmit any data to external servers. All processing happens locally in your browser. We do not collect analytics, track usage, or send any information to third parties.
Host permissions
The extension requests access to all websites (http://*/*, https://*/*) so its content script can:
- Write generated text to your clipboard
- Display optional "copied" toast notifications
The extension does not read page contents beyond the URL and title, does not inject ads, and does not send data to any server.
